Danone U.S. Recalls YoCrunch® Yogurt Toppers Nationwide Due to Plastic Contamination Risk

by | Jul 15, 2025

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. and LOUISVILLE, Colo., July 14, 2025 — Danone U.S. has announced a voluntary nationwide recall of all YoCrunch® yogurt products due to the potential presence of plastic pieces in the dome toppers.

While the yogurt itself is unaffected, the dome toppers—which contain mix-ins like candy or granola—may contain transparent plastic fragments measuring between 7 and 25 millimeters long, some with sharp edges. If swallowed, these pieces could pose a choking hazard.

The issue, reported through consumer complaints, affects all flavors and sizes of YoCrunch® products currently on the market. The recall was initiated on July 11, 2025, in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Danone U.S. says it is working closely with retailers to remove affected products from store shelves and is taking steps to resolve the issue quickly.

“Danone U.S. takes every consumer experience seriously and is issuing this voluntary recall as part of our commitment to product quality and consumer safety,” the company said in a statement.

Consumers who have purchased the affected YoCrunch® products should not eat them. For refund information, contact the YoCrunch® Consumer Care Line at 1-877-344-4886. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
