Work continues on the Statesville Police Department Expansion and Parking Deck project, with steady progress being made on both structures.
For the parking deck, crews have poured footings on the west side where site conditions allowed and are now working to form the back wall, which will be poured in the coming days. The elevator floor has been completed, and work on the north side footings is ongoing. Over the next few weeks, construction will shift to the east side footings. Once current drainage work in the area is complete, installation of the storm drain system for the parking deck will begin.
Meanwhile, preparation of the building pad for the police department expansion is underway and will soon be followed by footing installation. Demolition of existing structures needed to accommodate the new building footprint is scheduled for August. Storm drain installation for the expansion is expected to follow later in the month.
