STATESVILLE, NC – Drivers in downtown Statesville are being advised to use caution and expect delays near the intersection of Tradd Street and East Front Street. Ongoing sinkhole repairs, along with active construction for the Statesville Police Department Expansion and Parking Deck project, have made the area heavily congested with work crews and equipment.
Motorists are asked to reduce speed, remain alert, and avoid the area if possible—unless visiting a local business.
Officials are also reminding drivers not to cut through private business parking lots. Doing so raises safety concerns and interferes with normal business operations.
Crews are currently working within the roadway, and adequate space is needed for safe and efficient operations. City officials thank the public for their patience and cooperation as infrastructure improvements continue.
