Commerce Park Road in Mooresville remains temporarily closed following the discovery of a leak during the installation of a 24-inch sewer line. The work is part of the ongoing Brawley School Road widening project.
Crews with the North Carolina Department of Transportation estimate that the road could reopen within one to two weeks, depending on weather conditions and repair progress.
During the closure, access to local businesses along Commerce Park Road will be maintained. Through traffic is being detoured via Brawley School Road to U.S. 21 South, then back to Commerce Park Road.
Drivers in the Mooresville area are encouraged to remain alert, use caution, and reduce speed when traveling through the work zone. Updates will be provided as the project progresses.
