Washington, D.C. – Cabinet Health has issued a recall for its 4 oz. refillable medicine bottles due to a failure to maintain child-resistant closures, posing a risk of child poisoning.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the plastic lid’s closure can degrade with repeated use, leading to a diminished child-resistant function. This could potentially allow young children to access the contents of the bottles, increasing the risk of accidental poisoning.
Consumer Advisory and Remedy
Consumers are advised to immediately store the recalled bottles out of the sight and reach of children. Cabinet Health is offering a free replacement lid to affected consumers. To obtain a replacement, consumers must submit a photo showing the destruction of the recalled lid.
Cabinet Health and Amazon, where the product was sold, are directly contacting all known purchasers. The recall does not impact the medication contained within the bottles.
