The North Carolina Department of Transportation has announced upcoming bridge maintenance along Interstate 40 near Ridge Road in Davie County. The project will involve closing the left shoulder of the highway in the eastbound direction, between mile markers 163 and 164, just west of Mocksville.
Work is scheduled for Friday, June 20, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will continue during the same hours daily as needed, weather permitting. A contractor for NCDOT will be conducting repairs to the concrete substructure of the bridge over State Road 1147 (Ridge Road).
Officials expect minimal impact on traffic during the shoulder closure. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the area and be mindful of maintenance crews and equipment near the roadway.
