Arrest Made in Homicide Investigation of D’Angelo Barker

The Statesville Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the June 14, 2025, homicide of D’Angelo Malindsay Barker.

On July 22, 2025, officers with the Statesville Police Department, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, apprehended 33-year-old Darryl Davekio Jordan. Jordan was located in Huntersville, NC, and taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with murder and is currently being held at the Iredell County Detention Center without bond, pending his first court appearance.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 5:35 a.m., when officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of East Allison Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim in the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest/abdomen. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and Iredell County EMS, the victim, later identified as 25-year-old D’Angelo Malindsay Barker of Statesville, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following the incident, the Statesville Police Department’s Violent Crimes and Criminal Investigations Units launched an intensive investigation, collecting evidence and conducting interviews that ultimately led to Jordan’s arrest.
