HIDDENITE, NC – A 60-year-old man, James Henry Hall of Stony Point was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred Thursday in Alexander County.
According to authorities, the incident took place on Johnny Martin Road in Hiddenite around 10 a.m. Law enforcement officials stated that one person sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspected shooter as James Henry Hall. He has been charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury.
Deputies indicated that the shooting followed “an argument between several subjects.” However, it remains unclear if anyone other than Hall and the victim was directly involved in the dispute.
The victim is expected to recover. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
