The Statesville Police Department announced Wednesday that 16-year-old Bryson Smyre, who had been reported missing since November 26, has been located and is safe. He was found by the Cornelius Police Department, according to officials.
In a statement, SPD thanked community members for sharing information and helping raise awareness during the search. “Your support makes a difference,” the department said.
Bryson was originally reported missing last week, prompting a public alert asking residents to keep an eye out for the teen. He had been described as a Black male, approximately 6’2” and 120–130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
With Bryson now located safely, police have closed the missing-person investigation.
