The Mooresville Board of Commissioners marked multiple milestones at their December 1 meeting. A special swearing-in ceremony was held prior to the regular meeting, where Mayor Chris Carney, Commissioner At-Large Gary West, Ward 3 Commissioner Frank Owens, and Ward 4 Commissioner Dana Tucker were officially sworn into office. Following the ceremony, Commissioner Eddie Dingler was elected by Board members as Mayor Pro Tempore.
The meeting also included a recognition of retiring Library Director Marian Lytle, who concluded 39 years of public service in government, including more than nine years with the Town of Mooresville. Lytle was acknowledged for her leadership and contributions, including her role in opening the West Branch Library. Colleagues praised her as a visionary leader who made a lasting impact on the community.
Residents and officials joined in celebrating Lytle’s retirement and her many years of dedicated service.
